Honest Social Media Tool Reviews

I have used various social media tools for years to make my life easier so here is a recent roundup of tools that are great and affordable for the average small business (this is not sponsored!):

  1. Canva

I am absolutely obsessed with this design platform. You can create so much with it and it’s very affordable and easy to use (so much easier than photoshop). They have thousands and thousands of templates to choose from and pretty close to every type of formatting available. I’ve used it to create social posts, mood boards, brand books, logos, book covers, invoices, and even road signs for the Catskill Mountain Fall Festival.

  2. SocialPilot

I have tried out many, many scheduling platforms over the years and this is currently the most affordable and best one. You can easily schedule batch content and the site is rarely down. I personally don’t use the analytics provided (I find the social platforms have better reporting) but they are great to see a snapshot of what is happening.

  3. Chat GPT

Great to use to brainstorm for content, research, and for creating (what I call) templates. For example, you can use Chat GPT to create an entire marketing plan template or even a business plan template (you then have to go in and customize it but it’s a great start). As AI improves, I am sure even more features will become relevant for making your marketing simpler.

  4. Google Workspace

This is a staple in workplaces across the world– especially if you are collaborating with a team remotely. I use my google workspace for pretty much everything– emails, organization, project management, onboarding management, and brainstorming. It’s a must-have.

  5. Squarespace

Unlike Wordpress which constantly needs to be updated, Squarespace is easy to use and easy to build and maintain. The average small business does NOT need a complicated or expensive website platform. Squarespace really just gets the job done and is my favorite to work within. I even built my company’s website using the platform.

  6. Grammarly

It’s a free writing tool and it’s a great way to catch any and all spelling and grammatical errors. I’ve used it for years and it’s essential.

Hopefully this helps you with your small business!
