Case Study #1: The Vanguard Network
In 2023, the Agency worked with the networking and advisory group on their social media accounts, especially their LinkedIn presence, and launched a successful newsletter (the first of its kind at the company). The Agency led the social media strategy of the company as well as managing the social media accounts. The Agency created content and collaborated with the content team. The Agency presented monthly and annual reports to the team.
It’s noteworthy that in 2023, The Vanguard Network (TVN) LinkedIn increased by 20.96% followers. From the start of the year to the close, there was a 47% increase in the average engagement rate. All of these stats reflect one thing: the engagement on TVN Linkedin grew sustainability and organically with an audience that grew and interacted with content.
The Agency also tested out other social media platforms (YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok) and found that after two quarters of trying to grow, none of their efforts except LinkedIn were successful. It’s always an important lesson with social media: go where your audience is! By pivoting when the Agency did, they were able to significantly improve the LinkedIn performance.
The LinkedIn success was achieved in a number of ways:
The Agency tested out a number of different types of content (longer more opinion-like copy, video content from their extensive library, highlighting blog posts, etc.). Once they determined which content was performing best, I created more of it. It eventually had the desired ripple effect.
The Agency leveraged the CEO’s extensive network by personally inviting them to the page every month.
The Agency always kept up to date on the latest events both by posting events in the LinkedIn Events section and by running organic campaigns to drive attention to these happenings. Once they occurred, the Agency would tag all involved in a thank you post. By keeping up with the current events of the company, they were able to provide members with a snapshot of everything a customer would receive with membership while highlighting those involved in organizing these incredible events.
By using this social media as, well, social media, you can always grow a platform organically. By tagging people, replying to comments, and reposting interesting content with your own opinions, the account naturally began to grow.
The newsletter called The Vanguard Newswire was launched in late July and had on average a 22.82% open rate in 2023 (the average open rate is 21.33%). The Agency created the newsletter from the ground up. They designed the template in Mailchimp and Canva and determined the correct cadence of the newsletter (bi-weekly to monthly). Each newsletter contained three parts: an introduction signed off by Ken Banta, the CEO, three related leadership insight links, and upcoming events. Each newsletter also contained three photographs from past Vanguard events which the Agency combed through to determine appropriate ones to include.
The Agency also launched a LinkedIn Newsletter for Ken Banta, the CEO of The Vanguard Network. The Newsletter recycled content from The Vanguard Newswire with updated events.
Unrelated to their social media and the newsletter, the Agency also assisted the company with their New Leaders Program (NLP), a leadership program for 20-30 year olds. They performed extensive research and worked with the NLP team on content. They presented a research report after months of work to the team and it helped aid them and the shifting of the program.
Case Study #2: Maple Shade Farm
Maple Shade Farm is a gorgeous award-winning wedding venue located in Upstate New York. They are a small business run by Abby and Jay, a couple who own and operate the entire operation on their property.
The Agency completely revamped their company’s website, working closely with Abby and Jay to create exactly what they envisioned. Abby drew out her ideas and the Agency translated them to the site, providing their input as they proceeded. From the update, there was a new color scheme, a new home page, an updated wedding page, an updated events page, an updated FAQ page, an updated our story page, an updated media page, and updated social icons. They incorporated video for the first time on the site and they combed through countless pictures from weddings past to use throughout the site to accurately capture the magic of the place.
The Agency also created a brand kit for the company on Canva, incorporating the color of the barn into the color scheme (which was a priority for this client). They established an instagram template for Abby to easily use which you can see her utilizing in the latest posts. They also created a price list that the owners can easily provide to potential clients and worked with them on streamlining their prices.
The Agency also completed print ads for this client to be featured in Pure Catskills which is “a regional, buy local campaign developed by the Watershed Agricultural Council to improve the economic viability of the local community, sustain the working landscapes of the Catskills and preserve water quality in the NYC Watershed Region.” Every year, Pure Catskills releases a “Guide to Pure Catskills Products.” The Agency updated their previous Pure Catskill ad for this Guide from this to this.
Case Study #3: Catskill Mountain Fall Festival
The Catskill Mountain Fall Festival is family-friendly event that showcases the food, beer, crafts, and wine of the region. There are a variety of vendors including farmers, value-added food producers, vintage clothing shops, food trucks, live music, and much more.
They Agency helped design the website as well as create the brand kit for this event. The owners of the festival drew out their desired design on paper and they Agency translated it to the website, updating it as more vendors signed up for the event. They also established ways to easily collect emails and created instagram templates for the owners to use create promotional material for the event.
The event itself was a blast and it was incredible to see everyone’s hard work pay off!
